The Super Eagles B team will open their training camp on Thursday morning for the 2018 African Nations Championship qualifying fixtures against Togo or Benin Republic.
Venue of the camping exercise wasn’t revealed as at press time.
Coach Salisu Yusuf has invited 30 players including Stephen Odey, Mfon Udoh, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Ibrahim Alhassan, Dele Ajiboye, Sikiru Olatunbosun, Austin Oladapo and Ifeanyi Ifeanyi.
The squad is made up of four goalkeepers, nine defenders, eight midfielders and nine strikers.
The African Nations Championship is a football tournament which was first announced on September 11, 2007.
It is played between the best national teams in Africa, exclusively featuring players who are active in the national championships and qualified to play in the ongoing season.
Expatriate players, regardless of where they play, even in Africa, may not qualify to take part in the competition.
The home-based Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn bye along with Ghana, Niger, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso in the first round of the qualifiers.
Nigeria will face either Togo or Benin Republic in the second round of the qualifiers in August after the two sides faceoff in the West African Zone B first round qualifying stage.
The home and away fixtures for the qualifying matches between Togo and Benin Republic will hold on July 16 and 23 respectively with Togo hosting the first leg.
Nigeria, 2014 bronze medallists, will lock horns with the winner of a preliminary fixture between the West African neighbours, with the first leg taking place on the weekend of 11th-13th August in either Cotonou or Lome, and the return leg in Nigeria on Saturday, 19th August.
