Nigerian Women Premier League (NWPL) champions, Nasarawa Amazons have released four players and retained twenty seven from the squad that won the 2016/17 league shield.
The Christopher Danjuma tutored side will be hoping to fortify the team with some exciting young players after leaving out four spaces or more to be filled up.
Skipper of the side, Mariam Ibrahim leads the pack of retained players, while experienced defender Sarah Nnodim also made the list. Falconets trio of Joy Duru, Anam Imo and Chinyere Igboamalu were part of the names submitted to the media by the management of the team.
Goalkeepers Chioma Nwankwo and Augustina Boniface, Sandra Aernyi and Uchenna Chukwu made the cut.
Others in the list are Amarachi Okoronkwo, Ajani Kafayat, Ugochi Emenayo, Esther Victor, Ebere Okoye, Ejalonibu Adejoke, Okogbua Nnenna, Ucheibe Christy, Isah Sikiratu, Josephine Mathias, Ifeanyinwa Onourha, Ijeoma Emenike, Mary Ibadin, Alheri Ayuba, Vera Idoko, Stella Onyekachi and Juliet Iorliam.
Meanwhile, the four released players are Adeniran Adeola, Mercy Omokwo, Ogochukwu Onu and Ginika Ikeh.
Nasarawa Amazons will commence preparation for the 2017/18 NWPL season in the first week of January and players retained are expected to resume as stated.
