Abia Warriors set to unveil Football Academy

Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia will officially unveil its U13 and U 15 academy boys on Wednesday, 15th November, 2017, in Umuahia.

In a statement he issued in Umuahia, Abia Warriors Chairman, Chief Emeka Inyama said the State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu who will lead other dignitaries to the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour, is expected to unveil the Academy.

According to Chief Inyama, the Academy is a noble idea of the club to catch them young from the grassroots, pointing out that Abia Warriors remains one of the few clubs in Nigeria to embark on such a venture.

He revealed that the Academy will serve as a pool for Abia Warriors Football Club in the nearest future.

According to him, the Academy currently has more than 50 players within the ages of 13 and 15 years who were carefully selected from various junior and senior secondary schools within Umuahia and its environs after a thorough screening exercise.
