NLO Super 8: NAF hopeful despite devastating loss to Giodano

Giodano FC of Kano pipped NAF FC 1-0 in the match-day 2 of NLO-PIPUL TV Super 8 tournament at the Muhammadu Dikko stadium Katsina State.

The lone goal came in the 65th minute when Giodano FC forward Kamilu Amani capitalised on the defensive indiscipline of NAF FC as he received a pass from his team mate and dribbled pass two defenders before unleashing a low shot that beat Abdulahi Wahab, NAF FC goalkeeper.

The players and the coaching crew of NAF FC could not fathom exactly what went wrong and lack a better tactical approach that can curtail and take over the game from Giodano FC until in the dying minutes of the game when Giodano FC withdrew to defend the lone goal.

The Abuja based team, knew that a win will make them play in the final with a game to spare.

As it stands, the Kano bases team are on top of the group A table and have to win their last group match against Delta stars who have not won any game to qualify for the final with 7 points from two games.

NAF FC on the other hand, have to pray that Giodano FC lose or draw their last match and also hope that NAF FC win their last group match against J. Atete FC, before they can play in the final on Saturday.

The tournament has lived up to expectations so far as teams cannot just stop scoring, a total of sixteen goals have been scored from eight matches in the 2017 NLO Super 8 tournament, an average of two goals per match.

Four matches will be played on Thursday (today) 7th December 2017 in the match-day 3 of the tournament which also will be the last group match that will produce the two finalists of the tournament.

In Group B, the host Katsina united feeders are on top of group table with 4 points from two matches, Dynamite Force are in the second position with 3 points, Aklosendi also have 3 points but in third 3rd position and Spartan FC of Agege Lagos have just one point.
