Enyimba FC forward Wasiu Alalade is optimistic of avoiding a fruitless journey as the club battle Lobi Stars in the 2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week one clash at the Aper Aku Stadium on Sunday 14th January.
With the Pride of Benue looking to build a home fortress in Makurdi, Alalade, who signed for Enyimba from ABS FC, says his teammates must up their game if they are to realize their target of making an impact in the new top flight campaign.
“So far, our performance in training has been decent and we are ready for the season and what awaits us,” Alalade told Futbalgalore.com.
“We have to realize that the better for us if we start very well and I see the game against Lobi Stars on Sunday as a vital one.
“If we can get a point it would be very good for us.”
The former First Bank lad expressed happiness with his new move to the Aba based side.
“The move to this club is one that gladdens my heart. I can’t ask for more. The environment and atmosphere seems to be cool.
“I hope to prove myself at Enyimba and make the club a formidable one in Nigeria and Africa.”
