MFM FC earn crucial result in Bamako

Mohammed Camara 17th minute goal denied Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC a chance of recording an away victory in the 2018 CAF Champions League preliminary round match against AS Real Bamako on Sunday in Mali at the Stade Modibo Keita Stadium.

The Olukoya Boys put up a spirited performance against the Malian team who were very dominant for the entirety of the game and ran away with a point.

The first 12 minutes of the game saw the Scorpions creating the first goal opportunity of the match as Mamadou Seck’s header from a well delivered cross hit the crossbar.

Three minutes after Mamadou’s attempt, Akinyemi Nojeem put MFM FC in front with a lovely strike after connecting a pass from Okorom Stanley. The hosts responded quickly in the 17th minute of the proceedings with Mohammed Camara scoring his team’s only goal of the game via a powerful header.

AS Real Bamako mounted pressure on MFM FC in the second half of the game but the Nigerian side soaked all the pressure with great defending and claimed a crucial away result on their debut on the continent.
