KCCA and Rivers United have gone in 1-1 at half-time in today’s Group A Total CAF Confederation Cup encounter at the Phillip Omondi Stadium.
The first chance of the game came when Tom Masiko tried to shoot from 35 yards but goalkeeper Sunday Rotimi was equal to the task.
The hosts continued to enjoy much of the possession but found it difficult to create any meaningful opportunities.
KCCA broke the deadlock 15 minutes into the clash. Derrick Nsibambi beat his marker to power home. His effort skidded into the net.
Rivers United were dealt a crushing blow when number one goalkeeper Rotimi was taken off due to injury. His place was taken by former Shooting Stars shot stopper Abiodun Akande.
With the home side thinking that they might take a slim lead to the break, the Pride of Rivers got level, when Bolaji Sakin finished from close range after the hosts were caught napping.
